Water Lilies – Int. Piano

INTERMEDIATE PIANO SOLO

by Scott Price

Water Lilies is a graceful and reflective piano solo that captures the stillness of a pond touched by a soft breeze and floating blossoms. Set in E-flat major, the piece uses modal harmonies, syncopated pedal, and a gentle triple meter to create a tranquil, immersive sound world.

Expressive elements including ritardando and a tempo phrasing encourage students to shape the music with sensitivity while developing tone control, balance, pedal coordination, and subtle rhythmic awareness.

With its flowing textures and atmospheric character, Water Lilies is an appealing choice for recitals, studio performance, and Intermediate pianists developing a more refined expressive voice at the keyboard.
