Who We Are
With over 30 years of experience in music publishing, composer and educator Tom Gerou founded TOMGEROUMUSIC.COM® to offer imaginative, pedagogically sound music for students, teachers, and lifelong learners. Our mission remains steadfast: to raise the standard of educational music through carefully crafted publications that inspire at every stage of development.
We proudly participate in national music conventions and select workshops throughout the year — sharing our work directly with educators, performers, and the teaching community.
Tom’s career spans more than 180 published titles, many of which appear in the NFMC Bulletin, Royal Conservatory of Music syllabus, and Trinity College London exam materials. A graduate of USC and a Charles Ditson Scholar at Yale, he holds a Master of Music in composition and has served as VP of Production / Keyboard Editor-in-Chief at Alfred Music, Head of Publications at Trinity College London, and now as Chair of the National Federation of Music Clubs' Junior Composers Contest.

In addition to his publishing legacy, Mr. Gerou currently serves as Chair of the National Federation of Music Clubs' Junior Composers Contest, furthering his commitment to the next generation of creative musicians. -
Dr. Scott Price

Bernadine Johnson

A graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, she maintains an active private teaching studio in Michigan and has served on the piano faculty at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, as well as in various county school music programs.

Karen Beecher

Beecher received her degrees in piano performance from the Peabody Conservatory and the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and has performed with ensembles such as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. She currently teaches in her private studio, where her work as a performer and educator continues to inform her voice as a composer.

Dr. Nicholas Susi

He completed his doctorate at the University of Michigan, with earlier studies at the University of Kansas and Germany’s Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln as a two-time DAAD grantee. His teaching experience includes roles at the University of South Carolina and The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.
Dr. Susi gained national recognition as a winner of the National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist Competition, which led to a series of performances, masterclasses, and lectures across the country. He continues to engage audiences with a unique blend of scholarly insight and expressive performance.

Charlie Plante

Recognized for his expressive range and musical depth, Plante has collaborated with ensembles across professional and academic settings, including the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Waukesha County Conservatory of Music, and university programs at UW Whitewater and UW River Falls. His music has also been featured by the Junior Composers Institute and performed by the Racine Symphony Orchestra.
