EARLY ELEMENTARY PIANO SOLO
With Optional Duet Accompaniment
“Unique Unicorns” sparkles with imagination and gentle wonder. This early elementary piano solo in C major invites young pianists into a dreamy, magical world where unicorns shimmer under moonlight. The graceful melody, flowing in triple meter, encourages expressive, lyrical playing and artistic balance.
Students explore the C five-finger position with a touch of fantasy, learning to shape phrases through crescendos, ritardandos, and smooth broken triads. The melody shared between the hands develops coordination and listening skills, while steps and skips reinforce intervallic awareness. The piece also introduces B-flat, pickup measures, and quarter-, half-, and whole-note values and rests.
The optional duet accompaniment adds warmth and sparkle, making “Unique Unicorns” an enchanting recital choice or teaching piece that helps students grow in phrasing, rhythm, and expressive playing—all within a storybook soundscape.
