Summer's End – Early Int. Piano

EARLY INTERMEDIATE PIANO SOLO

by Scott Price

Summer’s End is a lyrical and reflective piano solo that captures the bittersweet feeling of closure and change at the end of a warm season. Built on broken triads and recurring patterns, the piece creates a gentle sense of motion while encouraging thoughtful phrasing and expressive shaping.

Set at an Andante tempo in common time, the music incorporates a tempo, D.C. al Coda, molto ritardando, and syncopated pedal. These elements help students develop balance, coordination, pedal control, rhythmic awareness, and sensitivity to changes in tempo and musical direction.

With its calm character and flowing textures, Summer’s End is an appealing choice for recitals, studio performance, and Early Intermediate pianists developing greater expressive confidence and control.
