INTERMEDIATE PIANO SOLO
“Ramblin’” is a bold, energetic intermediate piano solo that captures the spirit of motion and excitement on the open road. Written in B-flat major and common time, the piece features rhythmic drive, alternating-hand patterns, and a contemporary flair that will delight both performer and audience.
At an Allegro tempo, students explore intervals of 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, and 5ths, along with lively chromatic scale passages that promote dexterity and accuracy. Articulation contrasts—slurs and staccato—encourage precise touch and phrasing, while crescendos and the D.C. al Coda structure add expressive shape and momentum. The piece features quarter and half-note rhythms, grounding its forward motion with clarity and style.
With its flashy character, fun patterns, and contemporary sound, “Ramblin’” is a standout choice for recitals or festival performances—perfect for students eager to show off confidence, coordination, and flair at the keyboard.
