Preludi d’intaglio was composed by Karen Beecher in response to her students’ love for expressive, short-form repertoire like Burgmüller’s “Confidence” and Chopin’s Prelude in C Major, Op. 28, No. 1. Each of the six preludes in this set is concise, lyrical, and harmonically satisfying — offering the emotional depth of Romantic miniatures with a contemporary voice.
Ideal for developing pianists, these preludes are rich in melody and built on engaging harmonic progressions. Though each work stands independently, the set may also be performed in any sequence as a cohesive program.

This book is so beautifully put together. I can't stop playing Preludio V. It's melody and arrangement make my heart skip a beat. This is my second book of Karen Beecher's and I can't say enough about how the arrangements make me feel accomplished and challenged when I play them. I will continue to buy her books.

This is a beautiful book of the most prettiest preludes. I love the 2 and 3 pages in length, as to not be too troublesome to learn in a brief amount of time, along with the practice and performance advice.of each Prelude. Karen Beecher has made playing her preludes followed by her Nocturnes a wonderful time of piano music. I can’t express enough how much I love playing them and the sounds they bring.
