Flowing arpeggios mirror undulating ocean currents, while shimmering harmonies and subtle hemiola rhythms create a sense of lift and gentle propulsion. Set in D Major with touches of Dorian color, the piece explores compound duple meter, hand crossings, and melodic lines shared between the hands, requiring coordination and balance.
As textures expand through two-part voicing and rotational movement, pianists are encouraged to focus on tone, phrasing, and fluid technique. Both technically engaging and musically rewarding, this étude offers a compelling blend of artistry and motion—ideal for expressive performance and recital programming.
