Much of a pianist's playing experience is a solitary endeavor. It is when playing as an ensemble, in this case a duet, that a whole new set of skills is required. Balance, coordination, listening, timing, and voicing become skills necessary for both duet partners. It is with these requirements that Duettini are composed. Often interwoven together to form a larger, more expansive sound, a careful awareness of equality and balance was necessary to successfully create pleasant-sounding pieces, as well as works that are enjoyable to play and perform. Includes Practice & Performance notes. Titles: Accidental Blues • A Decidedly Neighborly Waltz (Eine Entschieden Nachbarschaftliche Walzer) • Garden Gnomes • Golden Dragons on Red Silk • Honey Bees & Lavender • Picasso in Paris • Venus at Twilight
