This book is the best Christmas book I've played through in years. It's refreshing with new arrangements that helped me hear the traditional songs in a new light. It's perfect music for entertaining guests at parties that want to hear popular Christmas songs yet, it adds a new depth with the jazz chords that make the pianist feel fancier than ever while playing them.
I liked the jazzy harmonies, I think it was more intermediate level. Just a little simpler than I thought.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on this holiday collection — we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the jazzy melodies.
This book is written for students in the Intermediate–Late Intermediate range, with the 12 pieces moving through that spectrum. In our experience, jazz chromaticism can nudge the difficulty level up slightly, but for Christmas music we intentionally kept things from becoming too challenging so students can learn and enjoy the pieces more easily during a busy season. Your note that it felt more on the intermediate side from your perspective will be helpful for other teachers as they consider what will be the best fit for their students.
Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we hope this music brings lots of holiday joy to you and your studio.
