EARLY ELEMENTARY PIANO SOLO

“Beetle Bugs” scuttles and buzzes with delightful energy! Written in A minor and common time, this early elementary piano solo invites students to explore playful bug-like sounds through blocked 2nds, stepwise motion, and repeating notes. The humorous lyrics capture the excitement (and a little bit of the creepiness!) of flying, flapping, buzzing creatures.

Students will experience legato and staccato touches, tenuto phrasing, crescendos, and hand-over-hand motion, while the melody shared between the hands promotes balance and coordination. Quarter, half, and whole notes and restsreinforce rhythm reading, and an optional duet accompaniment adds sparkle to performances.

Beetle Bugs is a lively, imaginative solo that builds expressive skills and articulation while making practice irresistibly fun!
