Sonatina Kansa is an engaging solo piano piece in sonata-allegro form, commissioned by the Newton Music Teachers Association (Newton, KS). Set in E Major and E Minor, it blends rhythmic contrasts, hand-over-hand motion, and melodic divisions between hands to create a dynamic and expressive work. The piece features varied rhythmic patterns (eighth notes, dotted rhythms, triplets), staccato-legato contrasts, and double notes, while incorporating modulation and harmonic depth.
